I am a firm believer that everyone has a gift to share and can make a difference. I am lucky to have found my gifts in education and dog rescue. Through my work at Miami Dade College, I help students gather information to make educated choices and decisions. Through my volunteerism with This is the Dog! rescue, I share the message of acting with compassion and responsibility towards animals. Support from my husband and two sons enables me to bring life to my passions. As a young girl, my heart was embossed with a paw print and my mind nourished with growing up in the 70's! What do you most like about working in libraries?
Sharing awareness to the possibilities, sharing ways to access information, and helping students realize they can succeed with determination and effort.

Share a library program or service that you are excited about:
The lack of empathy in society today is the root of many of our problems. The Service Learning Program at Miami Dade College is so important in allowing students to experience empathy, to be able to understand others, and to rationalize and relate to what is going on around them. Service Learning puts students in situations where that can happen.
